The following images show heat map visualizations of the participants' positions in the CAVE during the user study
for each of the different conditions in experiment E1.
The diagram shows the complete CAVE area (5.25m x 5.25m). The octagonal shape indicates the position of the
Magic Barrier Tape, the grid size is 1m. The relative center of residency is displayed as a black cross, circles
around that position mark the denoted percentage of time spent in that area.
In each image, each of the 24 participants contributed an equal share to the integral of all values displayed.
For each participant, any specific position is weighted according to the duration of stay, relative to the
total time needed by the participant. The color in the final image thus indicates the relative time the average
participant spent at each position.
