Successful Presentation at the European Parliament's Workshop "Understanding the Human Brain - A new era of big neuroscience"

On Tuesday, November 29th, 2016, the European Parliament’s "Science and Technology Options Assessment" group organized an international workshop named "Understanding the Human Brain - A new era of big neuroscience". The event brought together three of the international brain initiatives: the Japan Brain/MINDS initiative, the USBRAIN initiative as well as the Human Brain Project (HBP) , a Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Flagships of the EU. All three initiatives presented their status, achievements, opportunities for cooperation, and future plans.

In the context of a co-located exhibition, our group presented "The Interactive Cytoarchitectonic Brain Atlas", called InCytBrain, a Virtual-Reality-based application visualizing cytoarchitectonical data from the Human Brain. This includes anatomical information on the cortical areas as well as fiber data. The application has been developed as part of our HBP membership.
